Lovely Genuine Ruby with strong Red shade and good transparency, faceted into an oval shape with a super strong claw setting which, with the open back, allows maximum Light and Energy to sparkle through the gem.

These stones come from Kanchanaburi in Thailand where they were mined for centuries until the mines dried up but luckily for us they've recently been re opened because I haven't seen this quality of Ruby at an affordable price before. 

Sometimes these natural crystals have small cavities in them which are filled with a special glass in a centrifuge. To the eye this is undetectable, but we like to be up front about such things. 

When purchased I checked that they fluoresced, had the right refractive index and temperature coefficient.

Not until I photographed them, which is the equivalent of using a microscope, did I realise how many bubbles were evident inside which means they've been glass filled more than I thought - 

SO I'VE HALVED THE COST. 

This is still a real Ruby, not a fake or lab grown, and if not for that treatment would be much more expensive,
